How to Create a Portfolio Website for Job Applications

A CV lists what you have done. A portfolio website shows it, which is often what a hiring manager wants to see.
Choose work that matches the role
Lead with the projects closest to the job you want. Two relevant projects beat six unrelated ones.
Explain your contribution
Say what you did, what the goal was and what changed as a result. If a project was a team effort, be clear about your part.
Make it easy to find
Put the link in your CV header, email signature and LinkedIn profile. A professional email address on the same service makes your applications look consistent.
Keep it current
Review it before every major application round. Remove anything you no longer want to be judged by.
If you are still studying, see portfolios for students or portfolios for job seekers, and use our checklist of what to include.
